I’m often asked what the requirements are for attendance on a Trimix course. It’s not a straight forward answer I’m afraid.

Different Diving Agencies have different standards, I teach PSAI, TDI and IANTD. When I look at the three agencies they all tell me something different. However experience has shown me that different divers progress at different speeds and that some divers are ready for Trimix before others. It’s all a matter of being calm and in control when you have a problem.

The skills required for a Trimix course are no greater than on a user course but they are expected to be performed with a greater level of control. Buoyancy is key as helium is not a forgiving gas and the decompression stops are expected to be at that stop depth and not + or – a metre or two.

A Normoxic Trimix course is a 4 day course with theory interspersed with the diving. Two stage cylinders are required with sufficent gas volume to be able to get you out from depth.

If you want details on the forthcoming Trimix courses then please get in touch. We are also hoping to have some pre Trimix training days.
